Hillary, originally from New York, was living in London when she and her husband had their first baby, Monty, in 2006.
Hillary was shocked to find that baby and toddler food sold in the supermarkets had a shelf life of up to two years. She believed that fresh, healthy, good tasting food belonged in the fridge, not on a shelf.
So, from her flat in Notting Hill, she started Little Dish: a range of fresh meals just like families make in their own kitchens, using only 100% natural ingredients and no additives or preservatives.
Hillary worked closely with a nutritionist to ensure each Little Dish meal was perfectly nutritionally balanced.
Monty became the first Little Dish ‘Chief Taster’, helping to make sure every recipe passed the taste test.
In 2009, when Monty’s little brother Ridley was born, he became the second Little Dish ‘Chief Taster’. By this stage, Little Dish had recruited over 100 Tiny Tasters across the country to join their tasting panel.
In 2014 Hillary’s husband, Dean, joined the business as CEO and they became a husband and wife team, with a mission to bring fresh, healthy meals to toddlers all over the UK. Little Dish is now available in all the UK supermarkets, feeding 200,000 toddlers every week.
Once Little Dish became the no. 1 fresh toddler brand in the UK, Hillary & Dean were excited to bring Little Dish across the pond to US families. They found a production kitchen outside Boston and developed a range of US recipes, working closely with nutritionist, Nicole Avena.
